This position involves being part of a dedicated team that works together to provide outstanding meals and friendly customer service at a fast pace, to the students of Lincoln Public Schools. Our customers range in age from birth to 21 years of age. Job duties include all aspects of meal preparation, serving and clean-up. Food Service – Manager Trainees

Schedule: School Days, 5 hrs/day

Manager Trainee will participate in the Manager Training Program at assigned schools for the purpose of training to become a Nutrition Services Manager.

Emphasis on food production, equipment, ordering, computer skills, cash handling and accountability, personnel, scheduling, management skills and customer relations. Requires attendance at department meetings and classes.

• Perform the following for all programs including breakfast, lunch, snacks, Head Start, and summer feeding as assigned:
• Prepare and serve food according to the menus, recipes, and procedures provided by the Nutrition Services Department. Train food service employees as directed by the Manager.
• Practical working knowledge of food service and food safety practices and procedures preferred.
• Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, and frequently lift 25 pounds in a given day.

This position is eligible for benefits. Manager Trainees will start at $17.89/hr. Manager Trainee is a temporary position. When promoted to Kitchen Manager the wage increases to $21.24/hr.

Head Cooks

Prepare food items according to the daily food production schedule and approved standardized recipes. Prepare special diet meals. Follow all HACCP requirements. Work closely with the Manager to ensure sufficient quantities are prepared each day. Knowledge of food safety is essential. High volume cooking experience, and knowledge of the proper use and cleaning of all food service equipment, is preferred. Job training will be provided. Location to be determined at time of hire.

Hours may vary. Typically 5.5 hours -6.5 hours per day, between the hours of 6:30 am -1:45 pm

Lincoln Public Schools is accepting applications for school bus drivers. Regular routes are available as well as substitute positions. This is a great opportunity for students, retirees, at-home parents, self-employed in need of extra money.

• Regular Route hours are typically 6:30 to 9:30 a.m., and 2:30 to 4:30 p.m, with a potential for working during the mid-day.
• Substitute Drivers have the option of working partial days.

• Salary for substitute bus driver: $23.86/hour.
• LPS provides all the necessary training to obtain CDL license and School Bus Permit.
