District Social Studies Assessment Discussion
Recently the state legislature voted to change Nebraska's assessment system (STARS). Currently, the state is not requiring any district to report social studies achievement data. This creates an opportunity in our district: Significant revisions are taking place in social studies curriculum and it is time to make decisions regarding what (if any) district level social studies assessment data we want to collect and how to collect it. The discussion boards below are places where teachers and administrators can voice their ideas and opinions about how district social studies assessments should be revised. Department chairs and building liaisons are helping to coordinate this process.
