LPS dance, cheer teams bring home state titles

Numerous LPS high school dance and cheer teams came home with honors from the 2018 Nebraska Cheer and Dance Championships, held Feb. 18 at the Heartland Events Center in Grand Island.

In the dance portion, Lincoln Northeast placed first in the high kick competition; Lincoln Southwest finished second. Also in dance, Lincoln East placed second in pom and third in jazz.

In the cheer portion, sideline category, Lincoln Southeast finished first, East finished second and North Star finished third. Also in cheer, East finished second in the non-tumbling category.

East also took home the Spirit Award in cheer.
