LPS Town Hall: 'Breathing Life Into Equity'

Lincoln Public Schools held a virtual town hall, “Breathing Life Into Equity,” on Monday that focused on the district’s work toward meeting a goal set by the Lincoln Board of Education that prioritizes equity, inclusion and diversity.

The event featured a question-and-answer portion with Superintendent Steve Joel and moderator Antwan Wilson, a Lincoln High School graduate who has served as a superintendent in Oakland, Calif., and Washington, D.C., and is currently chief executive officer of Schoolwise Education Consulting.

It also included remarks from Lincoln Board of Education President Kathy Danek and Lincoln Southeast High School senior Deseree Chavez, one of three students who serve on the LPS Multicultural Advisory Task Force.

You can watch their remarks and the discussion between Joel and Wilson in the video below.
