Every week, we'll be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week it's Toni Tupper.

New Educator's Name: Toni Tupper

Building/Department: Lincoln High School, Special Education

Teaching Assignment/Role: High School Life Skills

Why did you want to become an educator? I wanted to become an educator because I wanted to be a difference maker in the lives of kids. I had many teachers throughout my school career who I had great relationships with. I wanted to be that person for as many students as I could be.

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools? My favorite part of working for LPS is working alongside great people. I have formed great friendships with my colleagues and I know they are always here for me when I need help.

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)? Yes. Riley Elementary School, Mickle Middle School, Lincoln Northeast High School

Where did you attend college? University of Nebraska-Lincoln (undergrad) & University of Nebraska at Kearney (grad school to get certified)

What is your favorite part of being an educator? My favorite part of being an educator is witnessing my students succeed in something they have been working so hard on.
