New Educator Spotlight: Jordan Imoehl

Every week, we'll be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week it's Jordan Imoehl.

Building/Department: Belmont Elementary School

Teaching Assignment/Role: First grade

Why did you want to become an educator? I became an educator because I love building relationships with not only the kids in my room but the families and the community around school buildings.

What has been your favorite part of working for Lincoln Public Schools? There is so much support around teachers and students. I never feel like I am alone.

Where did you attend college? Christopher Newport University, Newport News, Virginia

What is your favorite part of being an educator? Making a difference in students' lives and watching them have their light bulb moments.

Describe a time that you knew you made a difference for a student or group of students. All I want is for students to look back and think, "Man I loved when Mrs. Imoehl did ___ or showed me ____." I moved from Virginia (taught three years there) and I have students' families messaging me and still using me as supports for their family. I love continuing to help the families and kids I once served!
