New Educator Spotlight: Brooke Meints

Every week, we will be featuring one of our new LPS educators to get to know a little more about them and why they chose to be an educator. This week's New Educator Spotlight is Brooke Meints, physical science and biology teacher at Lincoln East High School.

Building/Department: Lincoln East/Science

Teaching Assignment/Role: Physical Science and Biology Teacher

Why did you want to become an educator?
I have always loved learning. In elementary school my science teacher would answer every question that I could think of. I would bring a rock inside from recess and he would tell me what kind it was. He even gave me a little book about planets that I still have today! He definitely shaped my view of learning and love for science!

Did you attend Lincoln Public Schools as a student? If so, which school(s)? If not, where are you from?
I attended Arnold Elementary, Schoo Middle School, and North Star High School

Where did you attend college?
Nebraska Wesleyan University

What is your favorite part of being an educator?
My favorite part of being an educator has been getting involved with different activities and learning about all my students!
