The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) named Lincoln Public Schools Security Coordinator Kyle Poore as an emerging industry leader in late June.

NCS4 is an academic center devoted to the study and practice of sports safety and security at the University of Southern Mississippi. The center’s “Emerging Industry Leader Award” recognizes a young professional who demonstrates outstanding leadership in addressing safety and security issues. Recipients also set an example for others to follow from their commitment to this area. The center presented the award to Poore during its annual National Sports Safety and Security Conference & Exhibition.

“Kyle’s innovative and solutions-oriented approach to safety is what makes him a stand-out security professional and why the Interscholastic Advisory Committee named him their 2023 Emerging Industry Leader,”  said  Brooke Graves, NCS4 senior training manager.

“I am thankful for NCS4 which has supported our school district and others nationwide with invaluable resources including in-person training, the Interscholastic Athletics and After-School Safety and Security Best Practices Guide and the Interscholastic Advisory Committee,” Poore said.

Poore joined the LPS Security team after 16 years in the classroom. He spent the past four years developing and implementing security protocols and procedures that align with industry practices to help protect more than 41,000 students and 8,000 staff members in LPS.

“Kyle is an asset to our district's security efforts. Kyle's life experiences as an educator and first responder bring valuable knowledge and experience to our team,” LPS Security Director Joseph Wright said. “NCS4's recognition of Kyle's vision for LPS speaks to all the hard work Kyle has done to bring us to where we are today and where we will go in the future.”

“This is a collaborative award due to the leadership of our security, athletics and activities and Community Learning Centers that prioritize safety. We all work for the common mission of keeping a safe learning environment extending beyond the standard school day,” Poore added.

Poore was one of nine professionals who received the Emerging Industry Leader Award in 2023. He was also the only recipient from a K - 12 educational institution this year.
