In a few sentences, briefly describe your role at LPS.
I am the executive secretary at Huntington Elementary. A big part of my role at Huntington is the business side. I support administration, teachers, students and parents.
How long have you worked for LPS?
Seventeen years.
What inspired you to become part of the education field at LPS?
Lincoln Public Schools is a big part of the Lincoln community. I love to see children grow and learn. Being able to support staff and students to help make a positive impact is very rewarding.
What has been your favorite part of working here? What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding?
Building bonds and relationships with staff, students and parents. The meaningful connections I have made are very rewarding and will have lasting memories. I love being part of a team that makes a positive impact on the future generations.
Did you attend LPS as a student? If so, which school(s)? If not, where are you from?
I attended school in Hastings, Neb.
What do you enjoy most about the Lincoln community?
Lincoln is growing in so many ways and has so much to offer. There is a sense of belonging and it is a very friendly community. It's a big city that still feels like a small town.
What is your favorite childhood book or a book that has influenced your life positively?
There are so many!
Share a shout out to a former teacher who impacted your life.
Mrs. Craig! Mrs. Craig was a rockstar teacher. She always pushed all students to do their best! She taught me a lot of skills that I still use today. She inspired me to succeed in life. She will not be forgotten.
